Waterproofing & Basement Entrances

Protect Your Home with Expert Waterproofing and Basement Entrance Services

Basements can leak for many reasons, no matter the age of the home. The constant freezing and thawing during Canadian winters can cause foundation walls to crack or erode over time. The most effective and permanent solution for a leaky basement is external waterproofing.

This method works on both older cinder block foundations and modern poured concrete foundations. It allows the waterproofing to be done from outside the home without damaging any finished spaces inside the basement.

Benefits of Professional Waterproofing

  Prevents Water Damage:

Stops water from seeping into your basement walls, protecting your home’s structure.

  Improves Property Value:

A protected basement increases the value of your home and makes it easier to sell.

  Protects Your Belongings:

Keeps your basement and stored items safe from water damage.

  Reduces Mold and Mildew:

Keeps your basement dry and helps prevent health risks caused by mold growth.

  Saves Money on Repairs:

Avoid costly repairs caused by water damage and foundation issues in the future.

Our Waterproofing Process

Step 1:

Locate the Leak and Identify the Cause

We inspect the foundation to find the problem area and determine what is causing the leak.

Step 2:

Excavation

We dig down to the footing, exposing the drainage system such as weeping tiles or clay pipes.

Step 3:

Foundation Repair

We clean the foundation walls and patch any holes or cracks in the blocks, mortar, or poured walls.

Step 4:

Drainage Check

We ensure the weeping tiles are properly sloped to drain into the sump pump pit and verify the pump is working correctly.

Step 5:

Waterproofing Application

A rubberized roll-on barrier is applied to the foundation walls to waterproof them and prevent future cracks or leaks.

Step 6:

Protective Layer Installation

We apply a backer board or membrane over the waterproofing for added protection against damage during backfilling.

Step 7:

Backfilling and Drainage Setup

The excavation is backfilled with ¾ inch clear gravel around the weeping tile to promote drainage. A fabric barrier is installed to prevent soil from entering the drain pipes, and the soil is compacted properly.

Step 8:

Surface Water Management

Downspouts are rerouted away from the foundation, and the soil is graded to direct water away from the home to prevent pooling and future leaks.
